London Art Book Fair 2014

Whitechapel Gallery, 25th - 28th September 2014

Again this year we were delighted to be accepted to exhibit at the London Art Book Fair.
Students from across the School of Art were invited to submit artists' books and publications for selection for inclusion on our stand and we had a wide range of work on show at this exciting event. Students from all levels of study were represented and their work was well received. We were also pleased to be able to showcase ECA Library Book-Artist in Residence, Julie Johnstone's book 2 - 20.
Two student volunteers along with our Print Workshop Graduate Studio Assistant helped out on the stand and they had the opportunity to present the work to the audience and be part of the event, attending associated talks and meeting other artists and publishers.

Picture Stories

Picture Stories is a collaboration between Illustration and Painting students and staff at Edinburgh College of Art and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. It is lead by John Brown, lecturer in Painting at ECA.
The brief centres on each participant responding to a short written narrative in the mode of a single page comic strip and is rooted in the spirit of Harvey Pekar's American Splendour.
It will culminate in a publication later in 2014.
